But is it worth your money?

[Alone for a while, I’ve been searching through the dark
For traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart
To weave by picking up the pieces that remain
Melodies of life, love’s lost refrain]
O_O. Can you believe it? Final Fantasy IX is now available in Europe! That was unexpected. The game wasn’t even announced for a European release yet! We definitely aren’t complaining though. Enjoy this beautiful RPG. If it’s your first time playing IX, you’re in for a treat.
Aside from a very awesome PSone Classic, there’s also Fret Nice, Voodoo Dice, Soldner X-2, and Sam & Max Episode 2. Yup, four downloadable games. If that’s not enough for you, there’s demos for Fret Nice, Voodoo Dice, SBK X, and PixelJunk Shooter.
Such a great week… and there’s more! As always, you’ll find a healthy amount of DLC for various games, including Just Cause 2, Lost Planet 2, and Super Street Fighter IV.
[And so it goes on and on
Melodies of life to the sky beyond the flying birds
Forever and on]
While our American readers can enjoy quality programming such True Blood, Entourage and Flight of the Conchords – thanks to a new partnership between Sony and the premium cable-television network, HBO – us here in PAL territories won’t be so fortunate.
We contacted SCEE to ask if there was any chance that we would be getting similar treatment, either by bringing the HBO deal over the North Atlantic Ocean or through a similar deal with another provider. Sadly the answer was a confident no.
The rumour of a PSN ‘premium’ service has been doing the rounds for quite some time now. Sony has now confirmed that indeed one is on the way and details will be announced soon.
Hmm…We wonder when. Maybe at that little gamer gathering in June?
The Green Day: Rock Band demo was released on the PSN Store today and features two of the bands hit songs, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Welcome to Paradise.”
Completing either song brings you to a teaser for Rock Band 3. It features your typical guitar, bass, drums, and microphone logos but there’s a fifth logo as well.
That’s right, Rock Band 3 will have a new instrument; keyboards.
When it comes to gaming, the bigger the screen the better. So if you have been waiting for that right moment to invest in a new LCD television then Argos might have a deal that suits you.
The Sony KDL-55EX503, 55″ model, currently has £150 off, and with another voucher supplied by us (see the end of this post), you can save a further £200. This means you can pick up this spectacular television for just £1149.99, that’s £350 less than its usual price at £1444.99. With those savings you could buy a second PS3 and still have some money to spare.
If there’s one phrase that gets gamers riled up it’s ‘movie tie-ins’. This normally indicates a game that has been rushed out to meet a tight deadline as the games movie counterpart is released.
But Ubisoft has been making Prince of Persia games for years now so surely its latest incarnation – Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands – should be anything but a tie-in.
Do we finally have the movie to game transition we’ve all been longing for?
Griff Parry, director of Sky OnDemand, has revealed that talks are ongoing to bring Sky Player, which is currently available on the Xbox 360, to other mainstream consoles. The obvious conclusion here would be that they are speaking to Sony and Nintendo with a view to bringing Sky Player to the PlayStation 3 and Wii. We would like to think so at least.
This is a great week for the PSN. There’s a lot of content here that should please everyone. So what do we have?
There are two new games: Soldner-X 2 and Super Stacker. Neither of those games have demos for some reason. However, there are demo for PixelJunk Shooter, Hamster Ball, and Green Day: Rock Band. Oh, and there’s Delta Force: Urban Warfare (PSone Classic). Moving on…
There’s tons of DLC this week for games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, BUZZ!, LittleBigPlanet, Just Cause 2, Record of Agarest War, Super Street Fighter IV (Femme Fatale), Lost Planet 2 (free Monster Hunter skin), and ModNation Racers. Oh my!
Want more? There’s also new avatars from Uncharted 2, PAIN, and Super Street Fighter IV. Now you can show everyone that you’re a flow chart Ken by displaying his annoying little face as your friend icon. Yay!
“For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me… it was Tuesday.”
Players of the first White Knight Chronicles will be very pleased with everything that carries over.
Recreate all of the World Cup action with tiny cars, as game-wth-very-long-title receives a 50% price drop across NTSC regions.
MAG will be getting another massive patch in June that will not only improve gameplay but also add the ability to purchase DLC in-game for those without access to the PSN Store.
There will also be tons of little tweaks and fixes to weapons and vehicles to make the game as smooth as ever. For the full list, continue reading below or check out the official MAG blog.
As of today, premium programming from HBO will be available on the American PlayStation Network for you to purchase and play on your PS3 and PSP systems.
The partnership with HBO will see hit series such as True Blood, The Wire, Entourage and the The Sopranos become available to PlayStation users. The PlayStation is the first console to offer content from HBO. Nice.
