Ponting stars in International Cricket 2010 trailer

Codemasters have released a new gameplay trailer for international Cricket 2010 as they attempt to build up suspense for the game’s release on the 18th June.

The trailer features Ricky Ponting – Australia’s leading run-scorer – in fine form as he faces up against a conveyor belt of bowlers. While the video doesn’t produce the same level of excitement as Codemasters’ previous trailer,  it does give us a feel for the game’s Action Cam, which promises to take us right into the heart of the, erm, action.

IC2010 is being developed by Australian developer, Trickstar Games, they have a strong portfolio which includes Ashes 2009 and the Brian Lara series. Their objective is simple for IC2010, they want it to be the most authentic cricket game ever. It may well be.

Of International Cricket’s newest features, the most interesting is the addition of a player and AI confidence system: this means players won’t be able to hit world-class shots or that perfect bowl from the off, you have to play your way into the game and build up confidence.

Players will have a variety of modes available to them including new instant tournaments, full test series and quick-fire Twenty20 matches. Nice.
