Toy Story 3 is a PlayStation Move compatible game
John Day, the producer of Toy Story 3: The Video Game has been chatting to the PlayStation Blog about what we can expect from the upcoming release.
Will this be the movie tie-in that actually works?
The game is broken down into two modes – Story Mode and Toy Box Mode.
In Story Mode you will get to plays as Buzz, Woody and Jessie – who each have their own unique play style. The mode will consist of eight action platforming levels.
Whilst it’s not a complete retelling of the movie plot, the player will visit some of the places, and meet some of the new and classic characters that are in the film, as well as some all new locations.
Also in Story Mode are heaps of collectibles which unlock new toys for the Toy Box.
In the Toy Box Mode you will be put in an open, non-linear environment and given the chance to play with Andy’s toys any way you like – well, perhaps not any way.
You are free to complete missions for different characters, customize the townspeople and buildings, race in various vehicles, and much more. The more adventurous and creative you are, the more you will get rewarded.
In the Toy Box you can play as Buzz, Woody or Jessie – and exclusive to the PS3 is the playable character Zurg, who is out to kill Buzz.
The game will also support the PlayStation Move – although it seems it will be for downloadable mini games.
The game isn’t looking bad so far – but only time will tell if it can shake off the movie tie-in curse.
