Final Harry Potter game to be split up, just like the film

The Harry Potter films are coming to an end with only one book remaining that has yet to hit the big screen. In order to prevent the film from lasting longer than six hours, and presumably milk the franchise for all it’s worth, Warner Bros. decided to release Deathly Hallows in two parts.

It should come as no surprise then, that the video game based on the film will be split up into two parts as well to coincide with the films release.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 will be released this autumn. Part 1 begins with Harry and the gang setting out to destroy the seven Horcruxes that hold the hey to Voldemort’s immortality.

“We have enjoyed a tremendous partnership with EA in collaborating on the Harry Potter videogames,” said David Heyman, Producer of the Harry Potter films series. “Over the years, the games have grown ever closer to the films in their art direction and in their spirit so it is exciting to know that the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 videogame will capture the action and suspense of the upcoming film.”

No word on where in the storyline Part 1 ends or even when Part 2 will be released, although we think it’s safe to say somewhere around July of next year.

How do you feel that the game is getting split into two parts? What other games do you think might get the breakup treatment? Voice your opinions in the comments below.
