Guitar Hero gets new guitars

Submitted by on Tuesday, 8 June 2010No Comment

Apart from the slider bar being introduced for Guitar Hero: World Tour (seriously, does anyone use that feature?), the GH guitars have been through very few iterations. However, that’s all about to change with the release of the sixth game in the main series, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.

As the trailer shows, the guitar controller has been completely redesigned, so that all of the electronics are contained within the neck and fretboard, which then allows for interchangeable bodies.

If you ask us, the body designs that have been revealed so far actually look pretty smart and durable, and the ability to swap them in and out as you feel like it is a fantastic, almost revolutionary, idea.

As well as looking great, the new design presumably also makes the guitar controller more efficient, as it reduces the likelihood of faults, because the power no longer has to pass from the body to the fretboard.

What with the new customisable guitar design and the recently announced Quest Mode, the Guitar Hero franchise is clearly having a much needed shakeup, and Warriors of Rock is looking like it could be the best game in the series yet.
