White Knight Chronicles 2 hits Japan next month and really haven’t seen any gameplay footage yet. Level-5 showed us the opening cinematic and a couple of trailers, but we really want to see the combat. Thankfully, that’s exactly what we get this time.

The first thing you’ll notice is that the visuals look better. It’s not a drastic change, but it’s appreciated. The gameplay is what really matters though. The trailer shows us the new charge and counter attack abilities. One of the biggest annoyances with the first game was the slow battle speed. We finally get to see how much faster the battle circle increases. It’s a pretty noticeable difference and we like it.

The online mode is also shown and we get a glimpse at just how varied created characters can become. Definitely a huge improvement over the original. Like we mentioned before, quests now have support for up to six players.

The video below shows us even more combat. We get to see many of the new weapon skill and magic casting abilities and they look so much better. Notice the amount of armor possibilities? That’s a lot compared to the first game. Be sure to check out the ending to see custom avatars being used online.

White Knight Chronicles 2 looks to be a much improved sequel. Hopefully we won’t have to wait long for an international edition.
