Capcom announces Mega Man Universe
Yesterday we were teased with a blog featuring Mega Man’s famous Mega Buster with the title “We’re Charging Up.” Today Capcom have revealed just exactly what they’re charging up for; Mega Man Universe.
According to Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, “this game will break the mold and challenge the conventional wisdom of what a Mega Man game can be.”
The teaser trailer for Mega Man Universe does well to raise questions. In it, we see a claymation version of the Blue Bomber taking on wave after wave of Wily’s robot minions. Surprisingly, Street Fighter’s Ryu and Ghost N’ Goblins’ Arthur make an appearance. Will this be a Capcom crossover game or will we see Mega Man throwing Hadokens again? It looks like we’re going to have to wait until Comic Con to find out.
Inafune also gave an interview to GameSpot where he reveals a few more details about the game saying that it is influenced a lot by the 80’s in it’s art style and music but will be featuring new gameplay concepts.
We can’t wait to learn more! While no release date was given, Mega Man Universe will be available on both PSN and Xbox Live. Now, excuse us while we go and watch the trailer five more times and see what secrets are hidden within.
