Driver pushed back until 2011 due to “competitive market”
Ubisoft’s Driver, which was once confirmed to release during Q3 of 2010, has now been pushed back until the fourth quarter of the fiscal year. That means anywhere between January 1st and March 31st of 2011.
The news comes from Ubisoft’s Q1 Estimated Sales report. The press release states the cause of the delay as “the competitive market at Christmas.” This Christmas rush includes games like Medal of Honor, SOCOM 4, The Force Unleased II, and Castlevania: Lord of Shadows.
Perhaps this is a good thing as that is one less game we have to worry about when deciding what to purchase with our hard earned cash. It also means that the development team with have a little bit longer to make the game as good as possible.
Ubisoft is still on schedule to release Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. 2 and R.U.S.E. in the second quarter this year.
