Earthworm Jim HD to land on EU Store today
Gameloft’s remake of Earthworm Jim – that 16-bit era classic, originally released on Sega MegaDrive/Genesis – is making its way to the EU PlayStation Store today. Giving us all the opportunity to revisit the game’s original levels now in crisp HD.
Gameloft have added three new levels for you to explore in the single-player campaign and a new remastered soundtrack. The main addition, however, is co-op multi-player, which allows for up to four players to play together on 15 multi-player stages.
Earthworm Jim was the brain-child of Doug TenNapel and was developed by Shiny Entertainment. Released in 1994, Earthworm Jim tells the story of Jim, your everyday dirt-eating worm, who ends up finding himself in an ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-cyber-suit that mutates him into an awesome superhero worm. The new Jim then sets off to save Princess What’s-Her-Name from the evil Psy-Crow.
Earthworm Jim is a platform shooter with a surreal sense of humour. It’s been priced at £7.99, a very friendly price tag for impulse buyers. So, if you’ve been pining all these years for Jim to return, rejoice; you can now see the weird and wonderful worm in lovely HD.
