ModNation Racers Getting ‘Casual’ Difficulty
Thankfully the game’s developer, United Front Games, now has the solution.
We’ve all been there… you’re tearing around the final corner on the final lap of the final race of the series, and the incoming missile indicator starts going of. At first you’re not worried because you’ve got plenty of boost to throw out a shield, but as the beeping starts pulsing faster, you start to tense up.
No matter how hard you try to time it just right, no matter how much practice you’ve had deploying your shield in the past, you still don’t get it quite right and the incoming rocket sends you hurdling towards the wall at break neck speeds.
In the time it takes you to recover and get back up to speed, you’re in 11th place.
We’re not sure about you readers out there, but we’ve been forced to cart a couple of TV’s out to the dumpster with DualShock controllers sticking out the screen because of ModNation Racers.
Ok, so maybe we’re exaggerating that story just a touch, but in reality, the game’s difficulty is likely to be too much for some of the more casual players.
Thankfully, we’ll be getting a patch soon to help rectify that problem. Ramone Russell, SCEA Community Manager elaborates:
“I know everybody wants to know more about the patch that’s in development. We appreciate your patience as UFG places the final touches on it. There’s been a lot of community feedback and I think UFG has done a good job trying to include a lot of the improvements you’ve asked for. One of the improvements is the addition of a “casual” career difficulty that has less “aggressive” computer-controlled racers. I was able to spend some time last week playing the new build. Let me just say that I had a blast playing through the casual career difficulty and I think those that have been asking for this will be very pleased when you can get your hands on it!”
There you have it. We’re not sure exactly when this patch will be hitting our consoles, but we’ll definitely keep you updated when we know more.
