[UPDATE] Grand Theft Auto: Vice City set for re-release?

Submitted by on Thursday, 8 July 20109 Comments

This news has got PS3 Attitude very excited! Australia’s Classification Board has out of the blue given a 15 rating to a “modified” version of classic title Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Now first of all, this is something that we really didn’t expect to hear on this fine Thursday morning. GTA: Vice City first released nearly eight years ago on the PS2!

The game is described as “Multi Platform” so this evidence gives the small possibility that the title could reach the PS3 in some form. Could Rockstar be preparing a re-release on the PlayStation Network?

Could it possibly be?

Of course we could be looking too far into this, but perhaps they are glossing the game in HD paint, mirroring the God of War Collection? Hopefully soon we will know more on whether one of the best games ever made is truly coming to our PS3s!

But whatever is up, we’re very anxious to find out, but we have our disappointed faces at the ready just in case. It could very well have nothing to do with the PS3.

We have some sad news. According to VG247 who have spoken to Rockstar, the rating is down to "back catalogue PC business" that's "part of ongoing work with history products". So it appears our hopes have been dashed.
