The release date for Crysis 2 has been bouncing all over the place.  It’s gone back, forward and every way in between but we finally have what we think is the real date.

It looks like you’ll be able to take a bite out of the Big Apple as well as some alien hide on March 22, 2011.  If you live in Europe, you’ll have to wait an additional 3 days to get your hands on it.

While it’s nice that they gave us an exact release date so quickly after delaying it, we can’t say that we understand EA’s thinking by scheduling it there.  It’s great to see a nice loaded calender in early 2011 but Crysis 2 is going to have some heavy shooter competition on its hand by the likes of Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Killzone 3.  We also expect Socom 4 to land somewhere around that date.

Regardless, we’ll let you know if anything changes between now and launch.  Based on Crysis 2’s history, we’d say it’s not a stretch to imagine.
