Motorstorm 3D Rift announced, out tomorrow

Submitted by on Monday, 23 August 20102 Comments

Sony has announced PSN title Motorstorm 3D Rift will be available on the PlayStation Store tomorrow in the US, and on the 25th for Europe.

The title features a collection of 10 tracks and several vehicles from the full retail game Pacific Rift, and is designed to give gamers a taster but also in the third dimension on 3D TVs.

It will cost your wallet $9.99 / £9.99 / €12.99 which is not bad for a game that packs in ten tracks.

This game is clearly a move by Sony to push the PS3’s unique stereoscopic 3D game support and persuade gamers to purchase the full game. Sadly though Pacific Rift still doesn’t support 3D and there appears to be no plans for it to do so, while the next instalment Motorstorm Apocalypse will support 3D out of the box.

So it appears this PSN title is only worth the cash for gamers who have no plans to buy Motorstorm Pacific Rift, unless playing 3D games really means that much to you and you don’t mind re-buying part of a game you already own.

Of course Motorstorm 3D Rift will also play in 2D if you just want to experience some of the full game for less of the price.
