NBA Elite 11 includes NBA Jam in HD

Submitted by on Tuesday, 3 August 2010No Comment

Remember when EA announced that NBA Jam was coming back exclusively for the Wii? Well, it looks like things have changed a bit since then.

EA Sports announced today on the PlayStation Blog that NBA Jam HD will be bundled with NBA Elite 11 (formally NBA Live). This is actually the only way to play NBA Jam on the PS3. The game will not be included on the PSN. What’s worse is that only three modes from the game are being included.

Yup, that’s right. If you want the full NBA Jam experience you still need a Wii. It’s a bit of a shame really. NBA Jam HD comes with the following three modes: Play Now, Classic Mode and Online. Considering how the Wii version might not even have online play, and if it does it’s probably not going to play that well, this news isn’t all that disappointing. Still, if you just want a cheap network title you’re going to have to buy a full game. That might not go well with gamers who don’t have a serious interest in Basketball and just want to play an arcade game like NBA Jam.

EA is looking to slam dunk NBA Elite 11 onto store shelves on October 5th. A demo is dated for sometime in September.
