3D blu-ray firmware update coming very soon

Submitted by on Thursday, 16 September 20107 Comments

We’ve known for quite some time that a firmware update containing blu-ray 3D support was coming, we just didn’t have an exact date as to when it was happening.  Now, thanks to the PlayStation Blog, we do.

Eric Lempel, VP of Network Operations dropped by the blog very recently to let us all know that firmware update 3.50 is coming on September 21.  Aside from that, he also made mention of other features that will be coming.

“While support for Blu-ray 3D discs is the primary new feature within the 3.50 update, there will be a few additional features. We’ll post more details on the blog prior to the firmware’s release, so check back here on Monday.”

As of now we can only speculate as to what those features may be, but it sounds like we’ll know soon enough.  Bearing in mind that they probably won’t be anything big, what would you like to see come in firmware 3.50?
