Final Fantasy XIV Opening Cinematic
Square Enix just released the opening cinematic for Final Fantasy XIV on the official website. Who knew a battle against a Malboro could be so epic?
The PC version of Final Fantasy XIV launches this month and Square Enix is starting to unleash tons of media. This time we get to see the full opening cinematic cutscene.
The 7 minute video mostly consists of nonstop action and awesomeness. XIV’s soundtrack is composed entirely by Nobuo Uematsu, which is the first time he’s done such a thing since Final Fantasy IX. Be sure to check out the epic pre-release trailer if you haven’t already for more samples of the music.
As you may or may not know, the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV was delayed until March 2011. Based on the early reports from the PC beta testers, the additional wait might actually be a good thing. It’s better to have a game with its bugs sorted out than one that is a mess at launch. And yes, there will be a monthly fee. It’s currently priced at $12.99 for a month of access. You can read more about the pricing here.
