FirstPlay Thursday – Week 22

Submitted by on Thursday, 2 September 20105 Comments

FirstPlay has been with us for a few months now and it’s really starting to get into its stride, with great content appearing every week. But what can you find in this week’s episode?

FirstPlay is chock full of content this episode, with previews for LittleBigPlanet 2, R.U.S.E., and a selection of PlayStation Move titles. There’s also a competition giving you the chance to win a surround sound system, and an exclusive interview with Andrew House, President and CEO of SCEE.

Not only that, you’ll also find an online review for the underrated Singularity, a look at the PSN’s best fighters and PSone classics, and screenshot galleries of Alice: Madness Returns, FIFA 11, James Bond: Blood Stone, and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

As always, this episode can be purchased for 99p, or you can save some money by taking out a 90-day subscription for £8.99.

HD Reviews and Previews

LittleBigPlanet 2 preview – as far as we can tell there’s no new footage here, but it still looks awesome

R.U.S.E. preview – FirstPlay talk us through their experience with the game so far

PlayStation Move previews – more videos of Move launch titles – only a couple more weeks to go!

  • Kung Fu Rider – it looks a little crazy, but it’s genuinely fun to play
  • Hustle Kings – this great PSN pool game obviously wasn’t originally designed for the Move, and unfortunately it shows
  • Start the Party! – this entertaining mini-game collection is FirstPlay’s favourite of the Move’s launch titles
  • TV Superstars – works well as a party game, but it’s downright depressing to play on your own

Feature: The Future of PS3 – FirstPlay talk to Andrew House, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, in this exclusive interview

Surround Sound Competition – your chance to win a Teufel 5.1 surround sound system!

  • Final Fight: Double Impact – this retro remix is great value – check out the PS3 Attitude review here

PSone Classics – the best PSone games currently available on PSN

  • International Track & Field – insanely addictive, even though the game’s mechanics are seriously outdated
  • Command & Conquer: Retaliation – the graphics have aged horribly, but it’s good fun
  • Rayman – this first game in the series is definitely still the best

FIFA Top Ten Goals – apparently these are good, but to be honest this writer couldn’t tell you – check out the PS3 Attitude review here

FIFA 11 – a quick look at the game football fans will be playing for the next year

James Bond: Blood Stone – not exactly a looker at the moment, but we’re confident Bizarre Creations knows what they’re doing with this game
