FirstPlay Thursday – Week 23
FirstPlay has been with us for a few months now and it’s really starting to get into its stride, with great content appearing every week. But what can you find in this week’s episode?
With the PlayStation Move launching in Europe next week, FirstPlay have reviewed a couple of the launch titles in this week’s episode (with more to come very soon). Along with Sports Champions and Start the Party! is a review for the PSN beat ‘em up, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
FirstPlay are also spoiling us with a preview of James Bond: Blood Stone, a feature on Tim Clark’s experience of Red Dead Redemption, screenshot galleries of Dead Space 2 and Street Fighter X Tekken, and an exclusive Landit Bandit dynamic theme.
As always, this episode can be purchased for 99p, or you can save some money by taking out a 90-day subscription for £8.99.

The complete contents of this week’s episode are as follows:
HD Reviews and Previews
Sports Champions review – Sony’s flagship Move title doesn’t disappoint in gameplay or presentation – 8/10
Start the Party! review – just a few more mini-games would have increased the score – 7/10
James Bond: Blood Stone preview – has the potential to truly bring Bond games into this generation, after the lacklustre Quantum of Solace tie-in
Clash of the Titans Blu-Ray review – its flashy CGI effects can’t hide its flaws – 6/10
Network Highlights
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World review – a fun little retro 2D beat ‘em up that’s full of fan service – 7/10
Video Store Round-up – a look at the latest and (not particularly) greatest movies on PSN
- Micmacs – surely a candidate for weirdest film ever?
- The Lovely Bones – a clunky mess of a melodrama
- Green Zone – decent reunion for actor Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass
- Alice in Wonderland – fantastic looking, but has a rather patchy plot
Personal: Red Dead Redemption – Tim Clark, Editor-in-Chief of FirstPlay and OPM UK, talks us through his thoughts on the incredible finale of Rockstar’s epic Western
Skate Tricks and Bails – a lot of these are actually pretty cool!
Screenshot Galleries
Dead Space 2 – Isaac’s new abilities look awesome, but the main focus is definitely still on horror
Knight’s Contract – been waiting for a game set in eighteenth-century Germany? Then wait no longer!
Rage – what do you mean we have to wait a year before we can finally play it?!
Street Fighter X Tekken – Delriach probably saw these screenshots about five years ago
