Gabe Newell promises ’3 big surprises’ from Valve
We’re not sure what to make of this. In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Gabe Newell, the co-founder and managing director of Valve, indicated that the company had three big surprises to reveal over the next year and that they will shock everyone. The ambiguity here is not so much a question of what the surprises are, but whether they will affect PlayStation 3 owners.
We would like to think Valve wouldn’t leave us out on the limb, especially now that they are card-carrying members of the PlayStation 3 love association. Ever since their announcement at E3 (that Portal 2 will be arriving on the PlayStation 3) Newell and other Valve developers haven’t stopped bigging up the console. After all that, it would be cruel for them not to include us in any party they have planned.
Speaking to PC Gamer, Newell teased us about these announcements:
“I can guarantee you people are going to be surprised at stuff we do. That isn’t going to stop any time soon. I’m just laughing because… people will be shocked again, we have three pretty big surprises in the next 12 months at least.”
What could these surprises be? It’s anyone’s guess. We’re holding out for the next iteration in the legendary Half-Life franchise. This wouldn’t necessarily classify as a shock, however. Whatever it is, we’re confident it’ll be exciting as everything Valve touches turns to gold.
So c’mon Gabe, tell us what you’ve got planned…
