[UPDATE]Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light to lack co-op at launch
Remember a while back when Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was announced, and Crystal Dynamics said it arrive for the X-Box 360 first? At that time, we here at the Attitude Towers all had a good laugh because we found out that the 360 version was going to lack co-op, despite its early release. Come to find out, the joke’s on us.
Crystal came out again recently and stated that while the newest game featuring Lara Croft is still on schedule to hit its September 28 target date for the PS3, it will lack co-op at launch just like the 360 version did. They did promise that a patch will add the heavily anticipated functionality, but they did not disclose a date. PC owners are drawing the short stick too, as they will have to wait for the patch as well.
To put it simply, this sucks. Not only that we have to wait but also that we’re not even sure when it’s coming. If you were planning on piloting this title solo, then this news really doesn’t affect you, but if you are like us and were excited about the co-op play, then it’s a pretty major buzz kill.
With this information being brought to light, we can’t help but wonder if it will alter potential purchasers’ plans or at least hinder their wallets until the patch goes live. How about you? Will you wait until we get the patch or is this still a day one purchase?
