New Mafia II DLC announced

Submitted by on Thursday, 16 September 20103 Comments

Mafia II New Mafia II DLC announced2K Games announced today that the third downloadable add-on for Mafia II is coming worldwide to the PlayStation Store later this year.

First we had the treacherous in “The Betrayal of Jimmy”, then the vengeful in “Jimmy’s Vendetta”.

Now get ready for the, errr, ‘impulsive’ with “Joe’s Adventures”!

Yes for the duration of this third piece of story-based DLC Jimmy has landed himself in the clink (Spoiler warning: Crime doesn’t pay) and so players instead finds themselves placed as his best friend since childhood, the impulsive and unpredictable Joe Barbaro.

Separated from Jimmy’s side for pretty much the first time since he was a child, Joe quickly sets about trying to uncover the truth behind his friend’s incarceration and what’s really going on in the Clemente family.

This mission, or rather ‘adventure’, will see the Joe exploring some brand new locations & never-before-seen buildings around Empire Bay, including a train station, the cathouse, a boat yard and a seasonally changing lake-front.

Players can expect also a range of new clothing, collectibles, and even more classic 40’s and 50’s music.

In addition to this extension of the game’s story, 2K are also promising a “slew of optional city-based quests” complete with online leaderboard support.

Date and pricing for this latest bit of DLC is yet to be announced, though we have been told to expect it “before the end of the year”.

At Attitude Towers we’re pleased to see 2K putting out so much extra story-based content for Mafia II, but will any of our readers be buying? Answers in the comments below!
