Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath enhanced remake announced, includes Move support

Submitted by on Friday, 3 September 20106 Comments

Stranger’s Wrath is coming to the PlayStation Network next Easter.

This is an announcement that caught us by surprise. Just Add Water, the developers of Gravity Crash and the upcoming Oddworld, is remaking Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath for the PS3. There hasn’t been an Oddworld game on a PlayStation console since Abe’s Exoddus. That was over 10 years ago.

Originally released in 2005 for the Xbox, Stranger’s Wrath is the fourth game in the series and stars a bounty hunter. The gameplay is very different from the first two games in the series. Despite that, it’s still awesome and has some very interesting aspects to it, including the ability to use living creatures as ammo.

Since word got out that we’ve been working with Oddworld Inhabitants there have been many rumours circulating about what we’re working on. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is the first project in what we believe will be a long and fruitful relationship. Having the chance to update this great title and release it on PS3 is just a brilliant opportunity, not least for us, but for the fans too. – Stewart Gilray, Managing Director of JAW

The PSN remake will include enhanced visuals, remastered dialogue, PlayStation Move support, and unrevealed bonus material. Stranger’s Wrath is currently scheduled to release next Easter. @AbeMudokon tweeted that more announcements are on the way. He uses an iPhone.
