Alien Breed is a series developed by Team 17 that dates back to 1991. Since then, the long running top-down shooter franchise has received several sequels. Alien Breed: Impact is an updated version of a game originally released for the XBLA in December 2009.
Does this Alien Breed reboot make enough of an impact to revitalize the series?
Believe it or not, the PlayStation 3 was released nearly four years ago, and since then the console has been graced with hundreds of great titles. Therefore, we at PS3 Attitude thought we’d take some time to pay tribute to the people who create the games that make our mundane lives just that little bit more entertaining: the developers.
Now this is a surprise. Gearbox Software, at PAX 2010, showed off some screenshots for their illusive shooter, Aliens Colonial Marines. A game we’ve not heard about in… well it’s been that long we can’t remember.

CVG have uploaded a video from PAX 2010, where Valve have been showing off some of Portal 2′s co-op gameplay. Thanks to some smart design decisions, Portal 2 is shaping up to be the best co-op puzzler on the PlayStation 3.
Heavy sluggish weapons. That was one of the most common complaints we heard from people who played Killzone 2. Moving the targeting reticule across the screen was a laborious job (although for some it heightened the sense of realism). As Killzone 3 is PlayStation Move compatible, this should no longer be an issue – unless you have slow wrists, that is.

Earthworm Jim HD is an updated and enhanced port of the 1994 classic. This isn’t just a prettied up version of a 16 year old game. New to Earthworm Jim HD is a four-player multiplayer mode and three additional stages not found in the original title.

We’re not sure what to make of this. In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Gabe Newell, the co-founder and managing director of Valve, indicated that the company had three big surprises to reveal over the next year and that they will shock everyone. The ambiguity here is not so much a question of what the surprises are, but whether they will affect PlayStation 3 owners.
An unspecified number of staff have been laid off at LucasArts as the company reorganises “its teams to better address the needs of the internal studio.”
The Star Wars developer doesn’t want to to go into specifics but one source has described the layoffs as being a “massacre.”
