PS3 Blu-ray 3D Update out next month
The PlayStation 3 already supports 3D gaming with titles such as WipEout HD and Motorstorm 3D Rift, but it as of yet doesn’t support 3D movies on Blu-ray discs.
However, next month that is about to change as Sony has confirmed at IFA 2010 that the Blu-ray 3D update for movies will be released in October so you can watch titles such as Avatar or Toy Story 3 in 3D.
The consoles lack of 3D movie support hasn’t been much of an issue so far as 3D Blu-ray movies are hard to find in the shops anyway. But we’re sure that the movie studios and Sony themselves will be really pushing the technology this coming holiday season.
It was previously speculated that the update would arrive this month, but we don’t feel that waiting another 30 days or more will be a pain in the neck for too many people.
