Silent Hill 8 announced
Silent Hill 8 has just been announced by Konami. This is the eighth installment of the franchise – imagine that – and Konami is looking to return the franchises’ past success. Come inside to find out everything we know.
Along with the announcement of the game itself, Konami also announced that Silent Hill 8 (which is still a working title) will be staying true to its roots by offering another third-person horror experience. Along with the series’ classic perspective, they’ve also promised a new thought provoking story line that will put players up against their deepest sins and fears. Creepy, huh?
The story will begin after a prison transport truck careens off the road and leaves another poor soul by the name of Murphy Pendleton stranded in the strange town of Silent Hill. Players will be able to use objects such as wooden chairs and glass bottles as weapons this time around, and will even be able to take on side-quests to help unravel the dark and twisted story. The side quests can even change based on a player’s style of play.
When talking about Silent Hill, Konami Digital Entertainment’s Shinji Hirano had this to say:
“In honoring the rich history and strong following of Silent Hill, we’re working hard to build a next generation horror game that the fans truly deserve. This Silent Hill introduces an all-new storyline and unique evolutions in gameplay, building on innovations and successes from over a decade of true survival horror and terror.”
So there you have it. Silent Hill 8 is coming. We’d love to hand out the purchase links like we usually do, but this info is so new and hot that we can’t find anyone preordering yet. Be sure to let us know your thoughts, below.
