Sony confirms new DLC for Uncharted 2

Submitted by on Tuesday, 7 September 20108 Comments

Twitter strikes again as news of new downloadable content for Uncharted 2 is leaked by Elena Fisher herself.

Well not Elena Fisher exactly, but rather her voice actress Emily Rose who this week tweeted that she had landed in L.A. to begin work on “#UNCHARTED!”

Naturally this delicious snippet of information was rapidly retweeted and soon grew into a rumour across many outlets that work was underway on the much anticipated Uncharted 3.

However sadly for those of us desperately clamoring for any details of Nate’s next outing it wasn’t to be. Gaming site Kotaku quickly went to Sony for comment and were told by a Sony spokesperson that:

“Now that Emily is just back from filming Haven she will be working with [Uncharted development studio] Naughty Dog on some DLC content.”

So no Uncharted 3 after all, at least not for the time being.

There is no reason to feel too downhearted though. The necessity of recording of brand new voice acting would suggest some fairly substantial content will be coming our way – certainly more than the avatars and character skins we have seen hitting the PSN lately.

The best explanation that we can think of would be that we can expect some new online co-op missions, as the new scenarios would most likely require new lines of dialogue. Of course this would just be complete speculation and wishful thinking on our part, which is something we don’t deal in at Attitude Towers.

That said, we’d love to hear our readers thoughts on the nature of this new DLC.

Do you, like us, crave new additions to the three existing co-op missions?

Or do you perhaps foresee an expansion to the single player experience; perhaps an extra chapter which fills in Jeff and Elena’s adventures tracking Lazarevic up to the point where they meet up with Nate and Chloe? Answers below!
