The sequel Tekken fans have been begging for has finally been announced.

Katsuhiro Harada, the director of the Tekken series, just unveiled Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at the Tougeki fighting game tournament at TGS. The original Tekken Tag released in 1999 for the arcades and was a launch title for the PlayStation 2. Can you believe ten years have passed since then?

Tekken Tag Tournament is exactly as it sounds.  Characters from the Tekken series team up with one another and fight. It’s awesome and we’re glad that it’s back. The game was only announced for arcades at the moment but it’s pretty obvious that it’ll come to consoles like every other Tekken.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is scheduled to release next summer in Japan.
