Call of Duty: Black Ops to support 3D
The list of Sony’s first-party lineup that will be supporting 3D is quite impressive. On the other hand, the number on multi-platform games that will support it is pretty small. The list isn’t necessarily about to grow leaps and bounds but there is one major game that will certainly move to the top.
Treyarch and Activision recently announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops is going to support full stereoscopic 3D right from launch. This is a pretty huge announcement for gamers and big Call of Duty fans alike, as an announcement like this will no doubt make other third-party developers follow suit.
This has very little to do with the article at hand but it has been funny watching everyone’s reaction to this news. We’re a couple of days late reporting this, which has given us time to gauge a lot of gamer’s thoughts when hearing about this information for the first time. Some of the same people that have slammed 3D and called it nothing but a fad in the past, are now losing their minds with excitement and vowing to own a 3D TV before Black Ops hits the market. We just thought it was worthy to mention how quickly people’s opinion can change when the feature in question is implemented in to a game they like.
Regardless, support from a title like this will likely make the new format a little more accepted in a lot of people’s eyes. With that, we want to ask how you see it. Does this change your thoughts on 3D? Would you consider 3D a viable option for you if your favorite gaming franchise chose to support it?
