First Fallout: New Vegas DLC not coming to PS3… or is it?
If you remember back to the days when Fallout 3 came out, you probably remember our disappointment when Bethesda announced that all DLC for Fallout 3 would be X-Box 360/PC exclusive. Strange how history has a way of repeating itself.
This news isn’t exactly like the news of 2 years ago, but it does sound eerily familiar. Bethesda announced today that the first DLC for Fallout: New Vegas would be X-Box 360 exclusive. Before everyone grabs their pitchforks and flaming sticks and heads to Bethesda’s headquarters, let’s wind the clocks back to the last time an announcement about exclusive DLC was made.
We actually went back and found the press release from over 2 years ago from Bethesda, and low and behold, the wording was exactly the same. The DLC was to be exclusive. They mentioned nothing of timed exclusivity and would later even deny that it was ever coming, even after trophies for the DLC started popping up on PS3′s; and unlike last time, Bethesda only mentions the first DLC for Fallout: New Vegas in this release.
This is pretty disheartening news, for sure, but let’s not be too hasty to assume that they’re actually telling the truth this time. Is it disappointing? For sure. Are we still going to get to play Fallout: New Vegas in its entirety when it launches this week? You bet.
So wipe those eyes and keep your chin up, because we know shenanigans when we see them… especially when we’ve seen the exact same shenanigans from the exact same company once before.
