Gran Turismo 5 delayed; still coming this holiday season

Submitted by on Wednesday, 13 October 201013 Comments

Fans have been waiting years for Gran Turismo 5 and it looks like they’re going to have to wait just a little bit longer because Sony has broken the news that the game will not release on November 2nd as previously stated but will instead come sometime this holiday season.

SCEA Producer Taku Imasaki confirmed on the PlayStation.Blog that Gran Turismo 5 will still be coming this holiday season, stating:

“We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.”

The holiday season typically consists of November through the end of December so the delay isn’t as bad as say, LittleBigPlanet 2. We do not know if this delay is only for North America or if it’s more global but we’ll be sure to update you with more details as they come in.

SCEE have confirmed via Twitter that the delay includes the European release as well.
