John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ album to kick-start Rock Band 3 DLC

It was just a couple of days ago that we were showing Rock Band 3 and the new pro guitar mode, but today we’ve got something else regarding Rock Band 3.  One of the most popular musicians of all time has an album coming to the Rock Band Store.  We’d leave you in suspense about who it is, but the title already gave it away.

The album is called Imagine and it’s by a small time guy named John Lennon.  Perhaps you’ve heard of him?  The album will be hitting the Rock band 3 store shortly after the launch of Rock Band 3, and joining it will be a few tracks by the Doors, Bon Jovi and Billy Joel.

Senior Vice President of Electronic Games, Music and Programming for MTV Networks, Paul DeGooyer had this to say on the topic:

“The songs on John Lennon’s Imagine run the gamut from beautiful piano-driven ballads like ‘Jealous Guy’ to all-out guitar rockers like ‘Gimme Some Truth.’  It’s an incredible musical statement, and a real workout on keyboard, guitar and vocals in Rock Band 3. We’re very excited to confirm it as one of the first downloads for our new game, and to help our fans celebrate John’s 70th birthday with its release.”

So there you have it.  We’ve got a couple of staff members that are pretty big Rock Band fans, and at least one that’s a fan of John Lennon, so this has created some buzz around the office.  How about you out there?  Who’s picking up Rock Band 3?  Of those that are, does this DLC interest you at all?
