PS3 version of Shaun White Skateboarding recalled
Any of you out there that were planning on picking up Shaun White Skateboarding when it launches this week might want to curb your excitement for a day or two. It seems an error of some kind has forced Ubisoft and Sony to recall the entire thing.
This is pretty major news about a pretty major mistake. It seems someone over at Sony Computer Entertainment of America was asleep at the wheel and put the wrong version of the game on the final disc. Shortly after this news leaked, Sony came out and made an official statement about this problem.
“There was a manufacturing issue with a misprinted disc at Sony Computer Entertainment America and the wrong version of the Shaun White Skateboarding PlayStation 3 game was shipped to retailers. We’re working with Ubisoft to correct the issue. New PS3 copies of the game will be shipped to North American retailers by Thursday, Oct. 28 and it will be available by that weekend.”
If there’s any positives to take out of this, it’s that the delay is only going to cost gamers two days. Even still, we have to question the same thing our source is questioning; how in the heck does this happen? Since they specified that this was a SCEA issue, we’re assuming that this problem will not affect the European audience – though we can’t confirm that at this time.
