Sony introduces PlayStation Rewards for loyal fans

Submitted by on Wednesday, 27 October 201025 Comments

PlayStation Rewards e1288201701994 Sony introduces PlayStation Rewards for loyal fansSony will be rolling out a new loyalty program titled PlayStation Rewards that gives fans exclusive content and opportunities for doing exactly what you’re doing now; playing games.

Starting tomorrow Oct. 28, PlayStation Plus and Gamer Advisory Panel members will be invited to join the PlayStation Rewards beta. You must be in either of the two groups and have opted-in to marketing by Oct. 24 in order to be considered so don’t go and join PlayStation Plus today in hopes of getting in.

No worries though, as Sony plan to open the program to everyone once the beta phase is over.

There will be a total of three reward tiers – “Select,” “Pro” and “Legendary.” Each will have their own unique rewards that members can choose from. These rewards currently will include:

  • Exclusive PSN avatars that display member status in the program
  • Exclusive dynamic themes and PlayStation Home content
  • Opportunities throughout the program year to participate in members-only sweepstakes and giveaways for experiences and merchandise you won’t find elsewhere (The first of which is an all expenses paid trip to the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, as PlayStation’s guest)

All you need to do to increase your status is keep on playing games, buying products from the PlayStation Network Store, or take those surveys they send out every now and then. Basically, keep doing what you’ve been doing.

Currently this is only available to North America but we imagine other regions will be coming out with something similar in the near future.
