Uncharted film adaptation update

Submitted by on Monday, 11 October 201015 Comments

We’ve been hearing about the Uncharted movie for quite some time now but until recently, we thought the movie had been delayed indefinitely when director, David O. Russell, backed out to go create the sure fire hit, Pride, Prejudice and Zombies.  Now, David is back on board and the movie seems to be ready to finally take off.

In case you’re unfamiliar with David O. Russell’s work, he has directed the indie titles I Heart Huckabee, Flirting with Disaster and Spanking the Monkey.  When asked about David’s return to the Uncharted move, Columbia Pictures president, Matt Tolmach had this to say:

“David is a tremendous choice to take on this film. He’s equally adept at combining all the classic elements involved in this property: great character development, strong comedy and amazing action sequences. He has a brilliant vision for this material and we know he will bring his original, unique voice to this adaptation.”

Aside from David being reunited with the film, we also know that Avi Arad, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner will be producing the film.

We’ll close this with a unique question for you.  The movie’s tentative title is, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.  With that in mind, it seems reasonable to think that the movie will follow the same story line as the game.  So our question is, if you could pick one line from the first game that you’d like to see/hear in the movie (and there’s a lot of good ones to choose from) which would it be?
