Funky Lab Rat on its way to PSN

Submitted by on Tuesday, 30 November 20103 Comments

While trolling through the suddenly small list of news and press releases today, we stumbled across a rat.  A Funky Lab Rat, to be exact.  No, we didn’t squeal like little girls and jump on the nearest chair, but rather we watched with intrigue.  So what is Funky Lab rat?

It’s a 2D side-scrolling puzzle platformer that allows you to take control of a lab rat named, Diego.  Diego is trapped in an experimental lab and it’s your job to help guide him out.  It won’t be easy but you’ve got some cool tricks up your sleeve that should assist you.  Like the ability to pause and rewind time.  This should come in handy in the event that something horrible should happen to this little rodent.  You also have the ability to move certain objects on the map to help facilitate a faster escape.

Escaping is not your only objective, however.  Each level is also packed with pellets that you can collect.  It doesn’t look like these pellets help you to escape in any way but no doubt the perfectionists out there will spend hours upon hours figuring out how to collect them all.

Funky Lab Rat will be hitting the Store this week and it comes loaded with 81 levels and 10 different worlds. It also includes PlayStation Move support and an awesome price tag of only $9.99.  We’ve enclosed a trailer and a handful of screens below, so be sure to check them out and let us know if this little rat is worth setting a trap out for.
