LittleBigPlanet update that’s not so little
Just as we’ve stated a million times before, we’re huge LittleBigPlanet fans here at PS3 Attitude. Even the smallest news out of the Media Molecule camp is usually enough to send us prancing around the office. Then there’s announcements like the one we got today, when they roll out so much awesomeness all at once that it makes our heads explode… as we’re prancing.
My oh my, where do we even begin?
We’ll start with a little thing called Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves. This is a small game that’s coming to the PlayStation Network on December 14 and 15 in North America and Europe, respectively. It’s a 10 level multiplayer-only game that’s using the LittleBigPlanet 2 engine to display how the Move controller can work with LittleBigPlanet (so you’ll need Move). You can expect a price tag of $5.99 for this glorified demo (that comes with its own trophies, btw). But that’s not all…
If you happen to be a PlayStation Plus member, this game will be coming to you a whole week early… for FREE! Ring the bells and dump the confetti, this calls for a celebration. Plus member or not, Media Molecule also claims that they’re planning to give this away to thousands of select LittleBigPlanet users.
Impressive stuff, eh? But hold the phone, we’re not done yet. In fact, we’re just easing you in.
Also announced was the expansion of the LittleBigPlanet 2 beta trial. What was only being played by a very select group will now be open to a much larger user base. We don’t have all the details but sometime in early December Media Molecule is planning on offering the trial to PlayStation Plus members, additional community contributors and they’ll even be hosting a few giveaways for additional codes.
As if the cooltastic meter wasn’t already high enough, there’s one more juicy gem to talk about.
LittleBigPlanet 2 will be getting its own demo for the story mode. The demo will be available in both North America and Europe on December 21 and 22. Anybody and everybody that has a PlayStation Network account will be able to get their hands on it, too.
We’d love to close this out with a witty paragraph that properly displays our level of excitement but we’re not entirely certain that’s possible. So instead, we’ll let you tell us how excited you are.
