New Official PlayStation headset revealed
A couple of years back, Sony announced that they were making a new bluetooth headset built specifically for the PlayStation 3. We all let out our voice of approval because using random bluetooth headsets with the PS3 can be a bit of a pain. Now, Sony is coming back around again with a redesigned version of the headset we love so much.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony talked about this new headset in great detail. Some of the features it comes with that you can already find in the previous model are: easy pairing with your PS3 via a USB cable, an ‘HQ’ mode that allows for slightly clearer voice communication, a headset indicator on the PS3 that shows you the headset’s mute indicator/battery life, and it also doubles as a desktop microphone when plugged in to the charging dock that comes with it.
New for this headset is a complete redesign that makes it smaller, sleeker and lighter than before. Also new is a noise canceling feature that’s built in to the microphone itself, which should make for quieter lobbies and better ease of use when pairing it with a cell phone.
This headset will ship out later this month for the familiar price of $49.99 and will work with all bluetooth 1.1 devices. If you’re planning on using it with your PS3, you’ll need software version 3.50 or higher.
