Prince of Persia HD remakes coming to North America PSN

Submitted by on Tuesday, 16 November 20109 Comments

There are a fair amount of folks out there that aren’t big fans of HD remakes.  We personally don’t understand it; you get full games in HD, they usually come with their own full set of trophies and they cost a fraction of what new full games cost.  What’s not to love?  Today, Sony announced that another classic franchise is coming to the PSN along with its own remake treatment.

Just a short time ago the US PlayStation Blog reported that all three classic PlayStation 2 Prince of Persia games are coming to the PlayStation Store.  Not only will they be upgraded with HD visuals but they’ll also support 3D if you’re lucky enough to have a 3DTV.

The release dates for these three titles will be staggered with the first, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, hitting the store this week.  The other two titles planned for release are Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones and you can expect those sometime in December.  All three will come with a separate price tag of only $14.99.

Good news, eh?  We like that they’re packaging them separately instead of bundling them all together, because it makes it a lot cheaper if you don’t want all three of them.  At the same time, if you do want all three, it might end up costing you a little more than it would’ve if they put them all on a single disc like they did in Europe.

We’ll close this article by asking what you think of HD remakes.  Does this bundle interest you?  If not, what is another classic franchise you would love to see get the HD treatment?
