SSX: Deadly Descents was announced at the VGAs this past weekend where the debut trailer was shown.

Developed by EA Canada, Deadly Descents will redefine the SSX franchise as you attempt to survive treacherous mountain ranges from all across the globe.  From the Himalayas to the Antarctic, players will battle each other and the elements as they race down the slopes.

“An entire genre was born from the original SSX a decade ago, and it’s time to reboot one of the most popular franchises of all-time in an unpredictable and unexpected way,” said Peter Moore, President, EA SPORTS. “Fans have been begging for this since the launch of this generation of consoles, and we have an experience that will be worth the wait. This franchise has always been about racing, tricks, characters and fun – SSX: Deadly Descents will deliver all of that, and more, on a global scale, with rich online experiences, and with the sense of adventure never before imagined on a snowboard.”

SSX: Deadly Descents will be the first game in the series released on this generation of consoles and we couldn’t be more excited, even if the trailer has a very Black Ops feel to it. Judge for yourself with the trailer below. The game is scheduled to come out next winter.
