L.A. Noire gets a release date

Submitted by on Wednesday, 26 January 2011One Comment

With all the hype and excitement surrounding Rockstar’s L.A. Noire it’s a wonder that we really don’t know much about the story.

Yes, we know the time period and the city and presumptions can be taken from there but we have not had much in the way of a concrete story arc.

Luckily we have a new trailer that sheds some light on the narrative behind Rockstar and Team Bondi’s action thriller. Take a look at the trailer and find out when you can expect to play it.

There’s a serial killer on the loose dear gamers. It appears that newly made detective Cole Phelps will be hunting down a madman that has an affinity for spilling the blood of Los Angeles area dames.

However if we know anything about Rockstar, there will be multiple story-lines in play simultaneously.

There are a myriad of directions that the story can take given the time period and the personal history of one Mr. Phelps.

Fresh out of the war, Cole Phelps is a decorated veteran that comes into the LAPD at a time when Hollywood is in its golden era and corruption runs high. Its a time of glamor and deceit. A dark and twisted world that hides behind the thin veil of societies ideals.

The LAPD needs a hero, a new face of law in Los Angeles. In steps Cole Phelps and all of his accolades. His military history puts him on the fast track to the top. Much like the city that he is sworn to protect Phelps has a dark past that is sure to show its face sooner rather than later.

Hopefully what we get in L.A. Noire is story that is more predicated on insinuation and personal demons than abject violence.

All of us here at PS3 Attitude cannot wait to dive into L.A. Noire and it looks like we’ll get the chance May 17 in the states and May 20 in Europe. Another stellar title that we can look forward to in 2011.
