Marvel vs Capcom 3 trailers and screenshots: enter Akuma and Taskmaster

Akuma and Taskmaster are the latest fighters to join the roster for Capcom’s upcoming mental fighting game, Marvel vs Capcom 3. To celebrate this news, we have dozens of screenshots and a couple of trailers to share with you.

Capcom has been teasing us for a long-time about who will be featuring in the final roster for Marvel vs Capcom 3. They’ve been revealing fighters two at a time, but with these latest additions, we’re getting closer to the end. Games TM recently confirmed that the final roster will be 36 fighters, and with 34 announced so far (excluding the DLC characters Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath) we only have two left to be revealed.

“So who are Akuma and Taskmaster anyway?” You may ask, or may not ask. Let us give you a brief biography for these two characters anyway ….

Taskmaster made his début in the Avengers #195, in 1980. He has no superhuman powers but is known for his ability to mimic another person’s skills with no practise at all. With these photographic reflexes Taskmaster is a formidable fighter. As you can see from the picture above, he is equipped with a sword. Taskmaster is a mercenary teacher for the criminal world and government.

Despite his name meaning “Devil” in Japanese, Akuma is not an evil character. He fights to test his skills and only wishes to fight those of equal or greater strength than himself. Akuma made his first appearance in Street Fighter II Turbo and since then he has developed into a popular character because of his good mix of power and speed. His moves are similar to Ryu and Ken.

Descriptions are all good, but what everyone really wants is to see them in action. So without further ado, feast your eyes on these awesome videos (thanks Capcom-Unity):

Both characters are looking awesome, especially Akuma, and we cannot wait to get our hands on them. Don’t forget to check out the gallery below, we’ve uploading a ton of screenshots.
