The add-on content, titled ‘Reverie’, looks to coax fans of the game to again step into Gabriel’s boots. The included trailer explains the details of his latest foray into the darkness.

If you ask a fellow gamer about games from 2010 that sort of flew under the radar, more likely than not the conversation will find its way to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

It isn’t necessarily that Konami’s hack-and-slash wasn’t a quality game. For whatever reason the game did not resonate with the masses in a way that generated a persistent fever around it. Perhaps this can be attributed to the game’s release window or the simple fact that many gamers found their appetite for hack-and-slash gaming satiated by Kratos by way of God of War 3.

Not to say that the game was a failure in any way but the sentiment exists that ‘CLS’ may have underachieved for a game that was widely considered to very good.

For those of you that did find yourself enjoying Konami’s latest addition to the franchise ‘Reverie’ is something that you are going to want to consider when it hits the PlayStation Store on March 30th for £6.39/€7.99.

Konami also made a point of conveying that ‘Reverie’ is only the first installment of DLC for Castlevania. A second part will surface sometime in the near future.

Reverie is the first of two planned DLC packs for the game, and marks a return to the game’s climactic castle setting as Gabriel seeks to assist the recently-slain vampire Queen’s hand maiden. The download spans three stages, and offers a breath-taking twist to the game’s plot – and will segue into the next DLC pack’s stunning conclusion
