Kabal joins the cast of Mortal Kombat

GameTrailers TV had Ed Boon, the creator of Mortal Kombat, on last night where he revealed Kabal as the latest character to join the tournament, bring the character roster to 26 now.

Kabal, who made his debut in Mortal Kombat 3, retains his Vader-like respirator and infamous hook swords that he uses to slice and dice opponents. For the most part, he remains the same character we’ve seen in previous games, only more beefed up. He can now launch two times the fire power thanks to the newly added super meter. Oh, and his X-Ray move and fatality are definitely cringe worthy.

Kabal’s X-Ray move breaks your opponents legs at the kneecaps and then thrusts his swords into their backs, ripping into the flesh. It’s as devastating as it sounds. His fatality kicks the player into the air and then with one swift swing of his sword cuts them cleanly down the middle, their head left on the tip of the sword as a trophy. Gruesome, no?
