The Riddler comes out of the shadows for Batman: Arkham City
In Batman: Arkham Asylum the Riddler constantly mocked the Dark Knight as he solved all of the riddles hidden in and around the confined prison. In Arkham City, however, Edward Nigma will be coming out from the shadows and play a more pronounced role in the game.
Destructoid got a first look at a much darker, SAW-like Riddler than we’ve seen in the past. Don’t worry, he will still taunt Batman and his riddle trohies remain intact. Best of all, he will have a physical presence in the game and although he won’t be part of the main storyline, you won’t want to miss what he has in store for us…
“The Riddler experience is not part of the main story,” Rocksteady’s Dax Ginn confirmed, “but you can see how much work we put into it. It seems to do them a disservice to call them ‘side missions,’ because we take them really, really seriously.”
There is also a new gameplay trailer for Arkham City. Sadly, it doesn’t feature the Riddler but we do see appearances by Hugo Strange, the Joker, Two Face, and others. Regardless, the game is looking spectacular.
Be sure to tell us your thoughts on the trailer in the comments below. Also, should the Riddler remain the enigma that he is or are you glad we finally get to see him in action?
