White Knight Chronicles II launches this May in Europe

White Knight Chronicles II was released in Japan last July and since then, fans have been wondering when an international release date would be set. After months of anticipation, SCEE announced that the game will be released this May in Europe alongside a PSP version acting as a prequel to the original story.

The game continues the adventure of Leonard as you embark on a 30+ hour single player campaign. There is also a deep online mode that you can tackle co-op quests with up to five additional players.

The Japanese version allowed you to transfer all your player data from the original game, going as far as requiring you to complete the first game’s storyline before you delve into the sequel. While this won’t be the case for its European release, a fully remastered version of White Knight Chronicles is included on the disc as well. It’s like getting two games for the price of one!

There is currently no word on a North American release but we imagine that an announcement isn’t too far off.

The White Knight Chronicles franchise isn’t a heavy hitter as some of Sony’s other exclusive franchises but it has sold decently well and gained a solid fan base. Are you excited to finally see WKCII outside of Japan? Do you even care? Let us know in the comments.
