Konami releases a new batch of screens for Silent Hill: Downpour

Submitted by on Monday, 18 April 20116 Comments

Konami has released a new batch of screenshots for the upcoming Silent Hill: Downpour showcasing what appears to be a run down mining facility, a perfect fit for the Silent Hill locale.

The screens feature the main character, Murphy Pendleton, as he explores one of the new environments of Downpour. Previously, we’ve only seen images of the cable car leading to this desolate location.

This is all part of the new look for Silent Hill: Downpour. The developers plan to create a more expansive world yet retain the claustrophobic elements that defined the survival horror series in the beginning. By the look of the screenshots below, Konami is well on its way to creating that atmosphere.

Silent Hill: Downpour is scheduled for  fall 2011 release on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
