Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 – Reveal trailer

callofduty modernwarfare3 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Reveal trailerLast week Infinity Ward released a set of four teasers for their upcoming shooter. War hit the streets of America, France, Germany and England.

Teasers are great but they pale in comparison to actual gameplay footage.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series has always played like a high-octane action movie and Modern Warfare 3 will continue the trend. You can again expect to see large set pieces playing significant roles in the single-player campaign.

The reveal trailer has soldiers appearing around the world with destruction following in tow. It’s very cinematic. Perhaps a more action-packed, grandiose trailer than the film industry has produced in recent memory.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is by far the most epic Call of Duty experience yet. The teams at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have worked tirelessly to create for the Call of Duty player a scale that is unimaginable with a level of polish and creativity that will push the genre forward. The passion and energy of our developers is reflected in everything about the title.  From the innovative gameplay, to the cinematic intensity, to the most advanced multiplayer ever, Modern Warfare 3 will raise the bar for this already incredible franchise.” - Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc

The extreme nature of the game is a necessity due to Modern Warfare 3′s planetary scale. It seems the various story and character arcs of the previous games will come to a head which may in turn mean the conclusion of popular characters. Unless Modern Warfare 4 is set in space the developers simply cannot continue to raise the bar any further with the same characters but maybe that is a topic of discussion for a later date.

If you’re a fan of the Call of Duty franchise you’ve certainly got plenty to be excited about come November 8.

Let us know what your thoughts are on the trailer and if you plan on standing in line during the dead of night for a launch copy.
