El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron was released in Japan last April, and it finally looks like it will be getting an international release. UTV Ignition plans to release El Shaddai on July 26th in North America and on September 9th in Europe.

In celebration of this announcement, we also have a new trailer to present to you. In it we get to see Uriel, one of the four Archangels assigned to watch over Enoch as well as provide him support. Players will be able to summon Uriel to perform powerful attacks for extra damage.

If you’ve seen anything regarding El Shaddai then you probably know that it’s heavily seated in Japanese culture with its unique visuals and artistic style. As the quotes say in the trailer, this is something Western developers don’t do often.
