First look at the Batman: Arkham City Collector’s Edition

Submitted by on Tuesday, 19 July 20113 Comments

Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment today unveiled the Batman: Arkham City Collector’s Edition for UK release. The special edition will launch alongside the standard version on 21 October 2011.

It includes all the usual stuff that you expect to see in a Collector’s Edition: a figurine, music album, artbook etc. but it is a nice package and should appeal to Batman fans.

Owners of the Collector’s Edition will get the following:

  • A custom Batman statue produced by Kotobukiya.
  • A collectible art book.
  • A digital copy of the Batman: Arkham City album from from WaterTower Music, featuring “original songs by hit artists”.
  • A bonus DC Universe animated original movie, Batman: Gotham Knight.
  • Early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map.
  • Early access to the The Dark Knight Returns skin.

An announcement has only been made for the UK release, but, considering the very nice Arkham Asylum Collector’s Edition was available elsewhere, it’s still likely that this package, or one similar, will reach other shores. Gamestop currently has a listing for the Collector’s Edition, priced at $99.99, which indicates that a release in North America is likely.

The press release didn’t mention anything about the price either. Normally that’s a sign that it’s going to be pricey, but aren’t Collector’s Editions  always expensive?
