Pay tribute to Black Rock Studio and win with PS3 Attitude
Last Friday, Disney made the sad decision to close British developer Black Rock Studio, the company behind awesome PS3 racers Pure and Split/Second. We were a big fan of the studio, and last year they were even included in our 100 Top Developers.
In August 2010, we said that ‘when it comes to racing games, Brighton-based Black Rock Studio is quickly becoming the team to beat’ and that Split/Second has to be ‘seen to be believed’. The team is clearly full of very talented individuals, so we’re sure they’ll be welcomed at other studios.
Indeed, several former staff members of Black Rock have gone on to form new development teams Roundcube Entertainment and ShortRound Games, and we of course wish them and the rest of Black Rock the very best for the future.
As a tribute to the legacy of Black Rock Studio, PS3 Attitude has a huge amount of Split/Second branded merchandise to give away this weekend, including t-shirts, hoodies, and (yes!) toy cars. To be in with a chance of winning, just follow the instructions below.
VERY IMPORTANT: We have a limited amount of clothing in various sizes, so to make it easier for everyone, we’ve split the competition into four time frames; one for each clothing size. Please ensure that you enter at the correct time for your size, otherwise you may receive clothing that does not fit.
Competition schedule (all times given in British Summer Time):
- Friday 12 noon – 8pm: Small
- Saturday 8am – 4pm: Medium
- Saturday 4pm – 12 midnight: Large
- Sunday 8am – 4pm: X Large
Twelve lucky winners (three for each clothing size) will each receive at least one item of clothing and a toy car. When possible, we may also send a third item (either another piece of clothing or a second toy car), but unfortunately we cannot guarantee this for every winner.
As with all competitions on PS3 Attitude, you’ll first need a Twitter account before you can enter. Once you’ve got one (or already have one!), just follow these two simple steps:
1) Follow @PS3Attitude on Twitter, so we can get in touch with you if you’re a winner.
2) Then tweet the following message in its entirety:
For shipping purposes, we are only able to send prizes to residents of the EU. Winners will be randomly selected and notified soon after each competition time frame closes.
Good luck to everyone!
